bcround — Round arbitrary precision number
Description
$num, int $precision = 0, RoundingMode $mode = RoundingMode::HalfAwayFromZero): stringReturns the rounded value of num to specified precision (number of digits after the decimal point). precision can also be negative or zero (default).
Parameters
numThe value to round.
precisionThe optional number of decimal digits to round to.
If the
precisionis positive,numis rounded toprecisionsignificant digits after the decimal point.If the
precisionis negative,numis rounded toprecisionsignificant digits before the decimal point, i.e. to the nearest multiple ofpow(10, -$precision), e.g. for aprecisionof -1numis rounded to tens, for aprecisionof -2 to hundreds, etc.mode- Specifies the rounding mode. For more information about modes, see RoundingMode.
Return Values
Returns a numeric string representing num rounded to the given precision.
Errors/Exceptions
This function throws a ValueError in the following cases:
numis not a well-formed BCMath numeric string.- An invalid
modeis specified.
